Taylor Swift joins Sir Ian in new Cats film

 Cats is to be adapted as a film starring Sir Ian Mckellen and Taylor Swift, after producers found a way to transform the actors beyond putting them in furry catsuits.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber theatre show features handmade costumes, but Hollywood demands something more sophisticated, and the new film will employ computer-generated wizardry to make the stars suitably feline. Tom Hooper, who won an Oscar for The King’s Speech, will direct, and Swift will make her major screen debut, alongside Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Sir Ian.

The adaptation will ride a recent wave of big screen musicals such as The Greatest Showman and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
