Toblerone returns to peaks of perfection
Toblerone will reinstate its original shape two years after its decision to widen the gaps between triangles caused a public outcry.
Back in 2016 the 170g bar was reduced to 150g in a “shrinkflation” effect, as the price remained at around £1 despite its smaller size.
Consumers mocked the new version, saying it looked more like Holland than the Swiss Alps. Now Mondelez, the maker of Toblerone, is coming out with a new version with traditional style peaks, 33 per cent heavier at 200g, though it is thought that the price could be more than £3.
Mondelez said: “We are always reviewing our range to make sure we provide great quality Swiss chocolate in formats we know our fans love.”
