Glitch hits Lloyds and Halifax

An online glitch left hundreds of Lloyds and Halifax customers unable to transfer money for several hours yesterday. The problem appeared to connected to the Faster Payments system used by banks and building societies and is understood to be related to an outage earlier this month that delayed payments. It follows glitches at TSB and Visa which impacted millions.
