Barber promises to give golfer Spieth free haircuts for life

 A barber who cut the hair of Jordan Spieth, the leading golfer, has promised the multimillionaire sportsman free trims and shaves for life after he was given his biggest ever tip.

Spieth, the world No6, visited Magic Barbers in the small Angus town of Carnoustie on Saturday, hours before his third round at the Open championship.

The 24-year-old, who has made around £30million in prize money, later joked that Fryad Salimi, the barber, “went a little high and tight”.

Spieth, from Texas, described the trim as a “very British haircut,” saying: “It was intended to be what I normally get but instead he went a little shorter. Shaved on the sides, a little longer on top. It is what it is.”

Mr Salimi told The Daily Telegraph: “He gave me £20 for a £9 haircut – it’s the biggest tip I have ever had.”
