First-time buyers spur Countryside

Housebuilder Countryside increased the number of homes it built by almost a third in the past three months on the back of a strong performance from its affordable homes unit. Its chief executive Ian Sutcliffe said targeting first-time buyers and homes at lower prices had enabled the company to weather wider malaise in the housing market.
