Abuse case fugitive is found teaching in Spain

A British man hunted for two-and-ahalf years on child abuse charges has been found teaching in Spain.

David Daniel Hayes, 38, of Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley, Wales, was one of the most wanted fugitives in Europe, Europol said.

Hayes, who failed to appear at Mold Crown Court in 2015 to answer child abuse charges, is awaiting extradition proceedings in Granada.

It is believed he had been teaching English privately under an assumed name. Pictures of his arrest appeared on a Spanish Civil Guard website.
