Hiscox cautious over hurricanes

Insurer Hiscox has warned investors hurricane season could still blow it off course this year despite unveiling a surge in profits for the first half. Shares in the FTSE 250 firm, which axed bonuses for senior staff last year after swallowing a gigantic claims bill linked to natural disasters, shot up yesterday as profits rose 27pc for the first half.
