Saluting the fallen
A US soldier salutes during a repatriation ceremony for the remains of soldiers killed in the Korean War and collected in North Korea, at the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. The 55 sets of human remains may include troops from other nations after it was confirmed that only one ID tag was included. But as the remains were due to land on US soil yesterday, a defence agency scientist said preliminary findings suggested that “they are likely to be American remains” as they were consistent with those repatriated in the past.
