Hepton’s finest role

SIR – For me, Bernard Hepton’s portrayal of Sir Thomas Bertram in the 1983 adaptation of Mansfield Park (Obituary, August 1) was a masterpiece. He captured the cold, austere Sir Thomas to a nicety.

I hope that the BBC might show it again in tribute to one of our finest actors. Roger Parrott
