Man jailed again 20 years after baby attack
A man was yesterday jailed for 21 months after admitting manslaughter when his victim died 18 years after he assaulted him as a baby.
Marc Guy, 43, shook Ewan Marrin when he was just six months and caused catastrophic injuries that ultimately led to his death at age 18.
Guy had already served 21 months after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm against Ewan, of Houghton-lespring, Tyne and Wear, in 1999. He admitted manslaughter at Newcastle Crown Court in May after prosecutors were able to show the connection between the 1998 incident and Ewan’s death. The Crown Prosecution Service said: “This was a highly unusual case.”
