Third Heathrow runway faces first judicial review

Heathrow’s £14billion third runway faces its first High Court challenge as campaigners seek a judicial review of the decision to approve the plans.

Lawyers for a group that has its own proposal for expansion, yesterday filed papers seeking permission for a review of the decision, taken by Chris Grayling, the Transport Secretary.

Heathrow Hub, which wants to extend an existing runway, said the Government’s decision process for increased airport capacity was flawed.
