Ex-diplomat stabbed neighbour 22 times
A former Uruguayan diplomat stabbed to death a gay rights campaigner who lived next door weeks after being released by mental health services.
Enrique Facelli, 49, developed a delusional belief that Julian Aubrey, 55, was a devil worshipper and was out to kill him, the Old Bailey heard.
In October, he attacked Mr Aubrey in his West Kensington flat, stabbing him 22 times. The defendant denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility. The Crown accepted the plea as psychiatric reports found he had paranoid schizophrenia. Facelli was handed a hospital order without time limit.
