Paramedic helping ill shopper has purse stolen

-

A shopper said by police to be aged around 70 stole a purse from an off-duty paramedic as she treated a supermarket customer. Police have released CCTV images of the suspect at Asda in Northallerton, North Yorks.

The suspect was carrying an Aldi bag for life sporting the slogan ‘‘You take the biscuit’’. Around 4pm on Monday, a customer was taken ill in the store. An off-duty paramedic was shopping at the time and came to assist the unwell person. As she was helping the person into an ambulance, her purse containing cash, cash cards and her car keys was taken from her basket, which she had put down.
