Pretty Woman star Gere to be father again at age of 69
RICHARD GERE is reportedly expecting a child at the age of 69, with Alejandra Silva, his 35-year-old wife.
It will be the couple’s first child together, reported ABC, the Spanish news outlet. It is unknown whether the child will be raised in Ms Silva’s home country of Spain or in the US, where they spend the majority of their time.
The Pretty Woman star married the Spanish publicist and businesswoman after a four-year relationship earlier this year, in a civil ceremony in Madrid.
They celebrated their wedding with family and friends in Gere’s home near New York. “I am the happiest man in the universe, how could I not be?” he told reporters at the time.
Both Gere and Ms Silva have children from previous relationships. The actor has an 18-year-old son, Homer, with Carey Lowell, his former wife, while Ms Silva has a five-year-old son, Alberto, from when she was married to Govind Friedland – the son of Robert Friedland, the mining magnate.
It is believed that the pair met when Gere visited the boutique hotel owned by Ms Silva and Mr Friedland.
