SCS bemoans hot summer weather

Furniture retailer SCS Group said the hot weather had meant fewer people were ordering sofas and carpets, dragging its like-for-like order intake down in the second half of its financial year, to the end of July, by 2.6pc. For the year as a whole, like-for-like order intake was up 0.2pc, after a stronger first half.
