Shell-shock

A couple from Cambridge were stunned when Herman (left), their pet tortoise, was found 3ft underground a month after he first went missing.

Matt Gilbert and Lindsay Ward had given up on seeing the tortoise ever again, but after hearing scratching from a pipe, the RSPCA helped dig a trench (above) to rescue the trapped reptile.
