Night of the Living Dead (1968, b/w)
BBC FOUR, 10.00PM ★★★★
Made in Pittsburgh on next to no budget, George A Romero’s horror film has become a cult classic. While it may seem tame to the modern viewer, this horror was once groundbreaking. A terrible plague has broken out across America and the dead have risen from their graves, turning into cannibalistic zombies – slavering creatures with a taste for human flesh – who gorge themselves in graphic detail. This is not a film for the squeamish.
