Rampaging horse hurts eight at county show
A showjumping horse injured eight people yesterday after galloping free during a county show. The casualties, including a 12-year-old boy and a woman aged 83, were hurt when the horse threw its rider and bolted on to a busy walkway full of spectators.
Five of those who were injured needed hospital treatment after being taken by ambulance from the Pembrokeshire County Show in Haverfordwest, West Wales. More than 100,000 visitors attend the three-day event each year, making it the biggest county agricultural show in Wales. An eyewitness said: “It just went on a rampage.”
