US authorities have intensified a probe into Tesla’s privatisation plan by issuing a formal summons to the electric car manufacturer’s chief executive, according to Fox News. The investigation was launched after Elon Musk last week tweeted he had “funding secured” to take the business private, causing shares to spike.
