Deporting bin Laden aide ‘tests limits of law’
A German judge has accused the authorities of “testing the limits of the law” in deporting a suspected former aide to Osama bin Laden to Tunisia.
Sami A, 42, was already on a flight when a court order prohibiting his transport pending guarantees he would not be tortured was received.
Now his return has been ordered. Ricarda Brandts, the chief justice of North Rhine-westphalia, said: “The limits of the state of law were clearly tested here.”
