Clear for take-off

sir – Instructions delivered with Marjorie Richardson’s fridge-freezer caution against “storing live animals” in it (Letters. August 17).

The aircraft in which I used to fly in the RAF has a notice on the rear of the pilots’ seats stating: “This seat must face forward for take-off and landing.”
