33-year-old gunned down in lunchtime assassination
Carl Campbell was killed by a man he had never met or spoken to who fired five shots at him with an antique revolver in a busy street at lunchtime.
Mohammed Humza, 20, used a Smith & Wesson .44 Russian to murder Campbell, 33, right, in the drive-by killing in 2016, which was apparently in revenge for the alleged theft of a watch. Firing from just feet away from the car in which Carl was sitting, Humza hit his victim in the face, killing him. Together with Vikesh Chauhan and Jaspal Rai, his accomplices, Humza fled, dumping the revolver in nearby bushes, but he and Chauhan were arrested by police in minutes. Rai fled to Belgium where he was later apprehended and brought back to Britain.
All three were subsequently convicted of the murder and jailed.
