Labour leader met anti-israel figures in Lords
THE Labour leader met controversial anti-israel figures, one of whom appeared to condone suicide bombing, just six months before he was elected to his post.
In 2015 Jeremy Corbyn shared a panel at the House of Lords with Azzam Tamimi, who once said sacrificing his life for Palestine would be “a noble cause”. The meeting was also attended by Dr Daud Abdullah, a former official of the Muslim Council of Britain, who sparked controversy when he publicly declared support for Hamas, the militant Palestinian group, Mailonline reported yesterday. Dr Abdullah also led a boycott of Holocaust Memorial Day and was accused of advocating attacks on the Royal Navy if it tried to stop arms for Hamas entering Gaza.
The seminar – the “politics of Gaza’s reconstruction” – was hosted by John Montagu, the cross-bench peer. The Labour party declined to comment.
