That’s (not) the ticket for police car
♦ A council has apologised after a parking warden issued a ticket to a police car while the driver was on an emergency call.
The official was filmed leaving a penalty notice on the car’s windscreen in Beeston, Nottingham, on Friday. Nottinghamshire Police said the officer was responding to reports of a vulnerable man in need of assistance close to where the car was parked.
Nottinghamshire County Council said its enforcement officers were supplied by NSL Services and that the fine had been cancelled.
Peter Goode, traffic manager for the authority, said: “We regret that this penalty notice was issued inappropriately.”
