New Spandau Ballet singer ‘intimidated’
♦ The new lead singer of Spandau Ballet has admitted he is intimidated by taking up the role of frontman in a band whose greatest hits were released before he was born.
Ross William Wild, 30, a singer and actor, was unveiled as the replacement for Tony Hadley, who left the group a year ago.
Asked if he found his new job intimidating, he replied: “Absolutely, they’ve got a legacy and it’s a responsibility of mine to pay homage to that legacy, but also [to] do it my own way.”
Spandau Ballet had hits with singles such as Gold and True in the Eighties.
