Venezuela struck by 7.3 magnitude earthquake

-

A powerful earthquake shook Venezuela’s northeastern coast and parts of the Caribbean on Tuesday, knocking out power, breaking windows and toppling store shelves.

The magnitude 7.3 earthquake was the largest to strike the country since 1900. But, as it occurred at a depth of 76 miles beneath the Earth’s surface, no deaths were reported.

Experts have previously warned that Venezuela’s cash-strapped economy would not be prepared to deal with a natural disaster.
