Hawaii in the path of 155mph Hurricane Lane

Residents of Hawaii yesterday braced for a powerful hurricane bearing down on the US state, with warnings issued in several counties.

Donald Trump, the US president, urged residents to prepare for Hurricane Lane, which is expected to bring torrential rains, high winds and dangerous surf. Lane had weakened slightly overnight to a category 4 storm, but still could pack a punch with winds of 155mph, experts said.
