sir – A few years ago my cousin and I were faced with the prospect of disposing of our dear grandmother’s fox fur stole – the kind made from the whole creature, including head, tail and dangling legs. As we were unwilling to bin it, a solution was hit upon by one of her greatgranddaughters, a textile artist who happened to be working on a new fictional historical drama being filmed in Northern Ireland.

The old fox ended up in a starring role – draped around the shoulders of a character in Game of Thrones. Virginia Paget
