Jennie Formby

Recently appointed as general secretary of the Labour Party, Ms Formby spent her early years living between Malta, Bath and Salisbury due to her father’s service in the Royal Navy. Via a grant provided by her father’s employer, she attended Bath High School for Girls and later St Helen and St Katharine boarding school in Abingdon. Despite a flush of O-levels and A-levels, she opted to go straight into work, stating that she had already grown “fed up with institutions”.
