Twine no crime

-

SIR – The Post Office would like to reassure Philip Jarrett (Letters, August 22) that there has been no change to the terms of acceptance of Royal Mail parcels at its 11,500 branches. We are very sorry if he was told that twine could not be used. We have contacted the branch involved to remind them of the correct processes to be followed. Roger Gale

SIR – I have nothing but praise for the excellent service received from Royal Mail. A month ago I sent a parcel to the Czech Republic. The intended recipient reported “non arrival”.

The parcel is now sitting on my table having been returned from Brno in the Czech Republic with a label saying “unclaimed”. What a journey!

I’ll try again soon. Mary Johnson
