Blasted nuisance

SIR – The laminated sign (Letters, August 24) of unauthorised objects displayed by the ticket gate at the Eurostar station in Lille includes a graphic of a rocket launcher.

SIR – A pair of swimming goggles came with these instructions:

1. Place goggles on palms with head strap hanging down.

2. Place goggles onto eyes.

3. Pass hands and strap over head. Remove hands.

Tenterden, Kent

SIR – While on holiday, we came across a washing machine that had a special cycle to remove pet hair. The instructions said: “Do not wash your pets in the machine.”
