Gascoigne arrested for ‘sex assault’ on train
PAUL GASCOIGNE has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman on a train.
The former England footballer, 51, was arrested at Durham station after the woman alleged that he touched her inappropriately.
Gascoigne, who has fought a long battle with alcohol addiction, was held at the police station but released under investigation after an appeal for witnesses.
A police spokesman said: “A 51-year-old man from Gateshead has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault by touching.”
