Out of sight Art in storage could fill 10 Tate Moderns

-

Around £150m worth of art by Picasso, Renoir and Degas is hidden in vaults out of public view by London councils. Just a fraction of 10,000 prints, paintings and sculptures, all publicly owned, enough to fill the Tate Modern 10 times over, is on show. After a Freedom of Information request, it was also found that work from David Hockney, Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin was out of sight due to lack of gallery space.
