Cate’s concern

Cate Blanchett, in her role as a UN Refugee Agency goodwill ambassador, has addressed the UN security council in New York on the plight of Rohingya Muslims who fled the violent crackdown by Burma’s military. She said she could not believe the “extent and depth of suffering” she saw when she visited refugee camps in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the Oscar-winning actress is featured in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar. She told the magazine that she was reluctant for her children to follow her into acting and also described the #Metoo movement as “an incredibly important concept”. The magazine is on sale from Sept 4.
