Milk in plastic

-

SIR – John Tilsiter (Letters, August 30) asks why milk has to come in plastic containers. My milk magically appears on the doorstep each morning in recyclable glass bottles, delivered in the dead of night from a silent electric milk float. I never see the person who does this, but I think locally he is known as “the milkman”. He also picks up and takes away my empty bottles.

I am sure he is on to something, and that this might catch on.
