Chief exec pay boosted by shares

Chief executive pay in the FTSE 100 is disproportionately weighted towards longterm incentive plans and share awards, according to the Chartered Management Institute. It found that 56pc of total remuneration for CEOS is made up of these awards, while only 16pc comes from base salary and 20pc from annual bonuses.
