Results give lift to HSS Hire

HSS Hire has cheered investors with a set of results suggesting that its turnaround plan appears to be bearing fruit, sending its shares up more than 15pc.

The company, which hires out tools and equipment to trade customers and home improvemen­t enthusiast­s, posted a 75pc rise in adjusted underlying profits to £29.9m, helping to narrow its statutory pre-tax loss to £7.1m in the 26 weeks to June 30 from £30.1m a year ago.
