Two children victims of Somali suicide bombing
At least six people were killed, two of them children, after a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Capt Mohamed Hussein said the bomber had tried to speed through a checkpoint but was stopped by soldiers near the gate of Howlwadag district headquarters.
The three soldiers who stopped the truck were killed, along with three civilians. Fourteen people, including six children, needed intensive care. Al-shabaab, the Somali terrorist group, later claimed responsibility.
