Pension portal plans delayed by ministers

Government plans to build an online portal showing savers their pensions could be diluted after ministers said pension providers would take over.

The dashboard is being designed to help people plan for retirement by showing all their funds from different employers on one screen alongside their state pension.

Yesterday Guy Opperman confirmed that pension firms, not the Government, will be asked to build it.

Last night the Department for Work and Pensions was unable to give savers reassurances that their state pension would be shown as well as their private savings. It has delayed the publication of a “feasibility study”, which will set out details of how the dashboard would operate.
