Boy stranded in Belgium after passport revoked

The six-year-old son of a British man has been left stranded without his mother in Belgium after the Home Office revoked the boy’s passport while he was on holiday.

Mohamed Bangoura, who was born in Leeds in 2012 and has lived in Britain his enitre life, was on a three-week holiday in Brussels with family friends before being denied permission to board a flight to Manchester on August 26. His mother stayed in Britain.

The Home Office argued that he should never have been given a British passport. The Labour MP Diane Abbott described the decision as “beyond belief ”.
