Dying man had wallet stolen at rail station

A thief stole a wallet belonging to a dying man as he suffered a heart attack on a train station platform, police have revealed.

David Lovett, 66, from Worthing, West Sussex, was making his way home from a rock concert in Hastings when he died on Aug 28. Sussex Police believe they have CCTV images of a man rifling through his belongings while he was supported by two women.

The missing wallet meant authoritie­s found it difficult to identify him and his family were only informed three days later. Rich Lovett, his son, said: “It’s the lowest of the low.”
