Grenfell fraudster dealt drugs from hotel room

A Grenfell fraudster who used the hotel he was put up in to deal cocaine and MDMA has been jailed.

Yonatan Eyob, 26, received almost £87,000 after falsely claiming he lived in flat 182 – home to a family of five who died in the blaze.

Eyob was put up in a hotel. Drugs, including MDMA and cocaine, and seven mobile phones were found in his room, along with £3,000, designer clothes, jewellery and credit cards.

Eyob pleaded guilty to fraud by false representa­tion in June. At Isleworth Crown Court yesterday he was given three years and four months for the fraud, and the same for possession of drugs with intent to supply.
