Grenfell fraudster dealt drugs from hotel room

A Grenfell fraudster who used the hotel he was put up in to deal cocaine and MDMA has been jailed.

Yonatan Eyob, 26, received almost £87,000 after falsely claiming he lived in flat 182 – home to a family of five who died in the blaze.

Eyob was put up in a hotel. Drugs, including MDMA and cocaine, and seven mobile phones were found in his room, along with £3,000, designer clothes, jewellery and credit cards.

Eyob pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation in June. At Isleworth Crown Court yesterday he was given three years and four months for the fraud, and the same for possession of drugs with intent to supply.
