Woman charged after man stabbed in Barnsley
A 28-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Barnsley town centre, South Yorkshire Police said.
Ayaan Ali, of Isleworth, Middlesex, is in custody and will appear at Barnsley magistrates’ court today.
Chief Supt Scott Green confirmed that Saturday’s incident was not a group attack, adding: “We can now also confirm definitively that this was not an act of terrorism.”
He said: “We are satisfied that this was an isolated incident by a single person. We would ask the public to stop reinforcing the rumour that there were multiple people involved.”
