Pedestrian killed by police car on 999 call
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a police car on a 999 call.
It happened on Lumbertubs Way in Northampton around 4am on Saturday. The matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. Northants Police said they had closed the A43 in both directions, between Round Spinney and St Gregory’s Road roundabouts.
Appealing for witnesses, the police said: “The collision involved a police car responding to an emergency call and a pedestrian.” The identity of the victim will not be released until the relatives have been informed.
