Eight building site ‘slaves’ saved by police
♦ Eight people have been taken into care and three arrested as part of a modern slavery investigation into building sites in Buckinghamshire.
Last night officers descended on a home in Iver after obtaining warrants. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “Approximately 100 officers were involved in the operation following allegations made about forced labour being carried out at building sites.”
Det Insp James Mather, who led the operation, said that they were in the early stages of the investigation and that “considerable work to identify any further victims will follow”.
