The Sound Odyssey

Gemma Cairney presents this new series in which British artists are paired with musicians from other parts of the worlds for mutually enlightening collaborative projects. The first episode takes Nadine Shah, a British Muslim from Sunderland who makes politically inspired music concerned with the refugee crisis, to Beirut to work with Lebanese musician Youmna Saba, who blends innovative electronica with traditional styles. We follow them as they strive to create a piece of music together in an intense process in just two days.
