Cholera spreads in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe yesterday banned public gatherings in Harare following a cholera outbreak that has killed 21 people, including two pupils from the same school, and left hundreds of people ill over the past week.

The outbreak, first detected in Glen View township, has prompted the health ministry to declare an emergency. Poor water and sanitation have been blamed.
