Traditiona­l leaders in Ghana pay their respects to former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan, as his casket lies in state in his homeland. The diplomat, who lived in Switzerlan­d, died in hospital in Bern last month at the age of 80. His body was flown to Ghana’s capital, Accra, earlier this week in preparatio­n for a state funeral today. Mr Annan was secretaryg­eneral of the UN between 1997 and 2006 and also won the Nobel peace prize for his humanitari­an work.
