Pool’s winner

David Hockney could become the world’s most expensive living artist after his Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) was listed for auction at £62million. It exceeds Jeff Koons’ Orange Balloon Dog sculpture which fetched £44m in 2013. The painting will go under the hammer at Christie’s, New York, in November. Editorial comment: Page 21
