Two die and 700 treated at Sydney music festival

Two people died, a dozen more were taken to hospital and 700 more sought medical assistance after suspected drug overdoses at a music festival in Sydney, Australia.

A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman died on Saturday after collapsing at the Defqon.1 festival, police said. Two of the 13 in hospital remained in a critical condition.

“This is an unsafe event and I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure it never happens again,” said Gladys Berejiklian, the state premier.
